Our Pork

Side Hill Farmers’ pork is raised in Hamilton, NY and Rodman, NY (Tug Hill Plateau). Our two primary hog farms raise Berkshire hogs, a heritage breed prized for juiciness, flavor, and tenderness. The hogs are fed locally-grown free-choice grain (and with no growth promotants or antibiotics in the feed), but they all have access to outdoor paddocks to forage freely, and dry hay to dig in and lay on in the winter. Because of the hogs’ access to exercise, forage, and pasture, our pork is pink-hued and marbled, and is definitely not “the other white meat”!

Our extensive pork cuts list is below. Please note that the cuts of pork we feature in the case can change daily. And we love “special cuts” and cut-to-order requests: if you have a specific need or desire, or if the pork cut you’re looking for is not in the case, call us or talk to one of our Butchers. We will be delighted to cut it for you.
